Dušan Kasalica is a Montenegrin film director, born in 1987 in Nikšić. He graduated in directing from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje, where he currently teaches.
His short film A Matter of Will (Biserna obala) won the Heart of Sarajevo at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2015, followed by the Special Jury Award for his film Soa in 2017 at the same festival.
Kasalica is an alumnus of the prestigious Berlinale Talents and a member of both the Locarno Filmmakers Academy and the European Film Academy.
As a producer, he worked on You Have a Night (Ti imaš noć), directed by Ivan Salatić, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2018.
His feature directorial debut Elegy of the Laurel (Elegija lovora) had its world premiere at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2021.
Most recently, he produced Wondrous Is the Silence of My Master (Otapanje vladara), also directed by Ivan Salatić, which premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival 2025.
