FİLOS tells the story of Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, known as the Fisherman of Halicarnassus, who was exiled to Bodrum in the 1920s. What began as punishment became a rebirth: through his love of nature, history and the sea, he transformed a forgotten coastal town into a cultural and ecological haven. Planting trees, bringing seeds from around the world, and inviting writers and artists to Bodrum, he helped shape the spirit of the town. FİLOS is the story of how one visionary person can transform himself, nature and an entire place.

Orhan Tekeoğlu is a journalist, filmmaker and academic who worked for many years in the Turkish media before moving into cinema and documentary production.
Nurdan Tekeoglu
Nurdan Tümbek Tekeoğlu is a producer, director and academic with a background in sociology and marketing, combining her experience in the business world with socially engaged filmmaking. Together, they founded Medya Ton and have produced and directed award-winning films focusing on memory, migration, women’s stories, cultural identity and ecological heritage. Their filmography includes documentaries and feature films screened and awarded at national and international festivals. With FİLOS, they continue their commitment to stories that connect people, nature, history and cultural transformation.
