FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE

Ivan Marinović is a multi-award winning Montenegrin director, screenwriter and producer celebrated for the film ‘The Black Pin’ (Igla ispod praga). He was born in 1984 in Kotor. He graduated from the Politecnico di Milano University in 2007, majoring in industrial design, and earned his master's degree in film direction in 2011 at the famous Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). His debut feature film ‘The Black Pin’ premiered in 2016 as part of the competition programme of the Sarajevo Film Festival. It was screened at over 50 international and regional festivals and won dozens of awards, including awards for best film, actor, actress, screenplay, set design, etc. The film was also selected as the Montenegrin entry for the Oscars. ‘Forever Hold Your Peace’ (Živi i zdravi) is his second original feature film project, which won the Krzysztof Kieslowski ScripTeast Award for the best script in Cannes in 2019, and the Excellence Award at Cinelink in Sarajevo. The film had its world premiere as part of the main competition programme of the Tallinn Black Nights Festival in Estonia in 2023. Ivan is also a co-producer of the films ‘All Alone’ (Sam samcat) by Bob Jelčić (Heart of Sarajevo Award for Best Feature Film, 2019), ‘Working Class Goes to Hell’, 2023 (Radnička klasa ide u pakao) by Mladen Đorđević (Toronto International Film Festival). He was a guest lecturer at the FAMU Academy in Prague, the FIOFA Institute in Ohrid, and he gave a Master Class lecture at Chapman University in California. He is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA).
