Lost of words

How do we connect with nature, and what does it mean to us? This documentary takes us on a journey across the United Kingdom, exploring landscapes and the communities living within them. Inspired by The Lost Words by Robert MacFarlane and Jackie Morris, the film follows the seasons, museum archives, and scientific laboratories, tracing words like: acorn, otter, snowdrop, and dandelion – words that were removed from the Oxford Children’s Dictionary in 2007. Through encounters with children, elders, scientists, artists, and activists, the film invites us to reconsider our relationship with nature, especially in the context of today’s climate crises. The Lost Words is a call to reconnect with our surroundings and to open up questions about the future and possible paths toward it – with care and kindness.
