Mohammad Wali Gandami is the last miller who knows the techniques of building and repairing traditional Iranian windmills. At 68 years old, he is still responsible for maintaining the windmills in the city of Nashtifan.
Nasim Soheili is a director from Mashhad, Iran. She holds a master’s degree in social communication and worked as a social journalist. Her family background in the film industry and her social activism in women’s and ethnic minority rights inspired her to create documentaries. After completing a one-year film directing course at the Iranian Young Filmmakers Society, she began researching and shooting short documentaries. Her work Maat has been shown at numerous international festivals, including the Cinema Verite festival. She currently teaches at universities and film schools and is involved in social activism.
